FLASH! WWE HOFer Piper diagnosed with lymphoma cancer
Monday, November 27th, 2006
World Wrestling Entertainment Hall-of-Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has revealed through his website that he has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Originally thought to be suffering from kidney stones, Piper, 52, was in extreme discomfort on the recent WWE European tour. After being sent home, he underwent disc surgery last week, whereupon a growth was discovered in his back. Further testing revealed the tumor — originally diagnosed as benign — as cancerous. Of note, his Canadian tour has been cancelled. Piper, long a fan-favorite among old school wrestling fans, released this statement regarding the diagnosis: “It seems like I have been fighting someone, something, someplace, in some manner, my whole life. But this fight, is one I am gonna win!â€? All of us here at WrestlersRamblings.com wish Hot Rod a speedy recovery. Please keep this legend in your thoughts and prayers.
