Wednesday, April 25th, 2007
Bubba the Love Sponge revealed today on the Howard Stern Radio Show on Sirius Satellite Radio that he will be teaming with Brutus “The Barber Beefcake as part of this Friday’s PMG “Clash of the Legends in Memphis. The duo will face-off against The Assassins as part of the star-studded card, with a main event of Hulk Hogan versus “Giant Paul Wight formerly the WWE’s Big Show. Bubba also added the show would be a traditional house show (meaning no taping of any kind) which must come as a disappointment to a number of fans across the world who will unable to make it to Memphis to see this historic event in person – a reunion of several 80s professional wrestling stars of the former WWF, NWA and AWA: Greg “The Hammer Valentine; “Boogie Woogie Jimmy Valiant; The Rock and Roll Express of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson; Grandmaster Sexay; Koko B. Ware; The Barbarian; former bodyguard Mr. Hughes; manager and current TNA commissioner Jim Cornette and - a Mr. Mal fav and friend of WrestlersRamblings.com - Abdullah the Butcher. Legendary Memphis announcer Lance Russell will co-host. Of note, as readers of WrestlersRamblings.com will already know, this is the event that really ruffled the feathers of WWE-brass when it was initially announced the main event would feature Hulk Hogan against the WWE’s Jerry “The King Lawler. Subsequently, the WWE pulled not only Lawler from the show, but also Shelton Benjamin, The Boogeyman and Charlie Haas. PMG Clash of Legends tickets are priced at $62, $47, $37 and $22.
