FLASH!! WWE’s Lashley out? Hardy fired?! HHH returning?
Tuesday, July 31st, 2007
Big news from the land of World Wrestling Entertainment this afternoon as, not only has the injury bug bitten another main-eventer in the company — this time RAW’s Bobby Lashley — but it appears Jeff Hardy is in some serious hot water with the company after no-showing last-night’s RAW. As a result of Hardy’s unplanned absence, the show had to be completely rewritten around the planned Umaga-Hardy angle, leading to the face-turn of Umaga. It is unknown at this time why Hardy missed the show — and further — what ramifications this may hold for the talented-yet-eccentric Hardy. Meanwhile, Lashley — who was working through a shoulder injury since April’s Backlash PPV, is reportedly scheduled to fly to Birmingham, Alabama tomorrow to meet with noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews regarding a suspected torn rotator cuff. One doctor has reportedly already confirmed this diagnosis.
The Lashley news comes mere weeks before headliner Hunter Hurst Helmsely (HHH) is rumored to be making his comeback at the Madison Squre Garden RAW/Saturday Night Main Event tapings. Of note, rumor has HHH employing a Conan the Barbarian-type gimmick, perhaps similar to that used in his WrestleMania XXII match with John Cena.
