Old-School Sundays: Flair vs Steamboat through the years
Sunday, October 28th, 2007
Hey-hey! Ho-ho! Old-School Sundays is the show! Hey-hey! Ho-ho! Mr. Mal, for those not in the know, is his own biggest fan. I love me. The reason for this self-adoration? Classic, movie star good looks, for starters. Believe me, the hood I wear is for the good of all woman-kind. They’d never get any rest chasing Mr. Mal around if I walked the streets without it!! Another reason? Great ideas such as Old-School Sundays. And judging from your cards and letters (thanks all — but you can keep the homemade cookies. Mr. Mal is on a strict diet) you dig it just the same. For this week’s edition, you can’t mention the word “old-school” and pro wrestling in the same sentence without mentioning the great Nature Boy Ric Flair, not to mention his great opponent, Ricky Steamboat. These two, by Flair’s measure, probably worked 1,000 matches over their career — a few of whom we will feature for your viewing pleasure today. It doesn’t get any better than this, pro wrestling fans, and I urge all my readers to watch these classic face-heel match-up par excellance. They simply don’t make’em like this anymore. Just listen to the little girl’s screaming their lungs out as the dastardly Flair rubs Steamboat’s face into the cement during the first match. Talk about getting heat! Classic stuff. Thanks for visiting us for Old School Sundays! Sit back, relax, and let these two Hall of Famers take you on a journey as only the best professional wrestling can. - Mr. Mal
