TNA Impact Review: Styles decision, an in ring return
Friday, December 28th, 2007
This week AJ Styles is once again undecided about whose side he is on…. The monster Abyss speaks out and another monster returns to the ring. Folks, this is your TNA Impact review. Sit back and The Eagle will tell you all the happened.….TNA Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Tomko start off the program by arguing whose side Styles is on. Tomko makes it clear that he must choose. Styles still insist that he can play on both sides.…..Judas Mesias returned to in ring action this week taking on the Senshi. In case you haven’t heard yet Senshi is on his way out after Final Resolution. He is being a professional about it and putting guys over before he leaves. Senshi has a lot of talent and The Eagle thinks TNA is making a mistake by letting him go.….Christian Cage called out AJ Styles and Tomko for their decision but only Styles came out. Of course Cage took credit for everything Styles has
done in this business. His rant was interrupted by TNA Worlds Champion Kurt Angle. After playing tug of war with Styles they accidently bumped each other and then the brawl started. In the mess AJ Styles was hit with the belt by Cage and knocked out. Tomko came to the ring to break up Angle and Cage. Christian Cage made it known that the tag champs have a decision to make.
Booker T came down to take on Robert Roode but the match never occurred. Karen Angle attacked Sharmell and when Booker T tried to break it up Kurt Angle attacked him. Robert Roode and Kurt Angle did a double team on Booker but he was able to escape. Booker T made a challenge for the night….. TNA Worlds Champion Kurt Angle and Robert Roode vs Booker T and a partner of his choosing. The Eagle thinks that this is the spot where Karen Angle was injured. If you haven’t read yet… Karen broke her leg at a taping. After her brawl with Sharmell she quickly disappeared leaving me to believe that this is where they rushed her to the back…..TNA Tag Team Champions had their hands full tonight as they took on The Motor City Machineguns in a non title match. Eric Young came down to give Styles advice but it ended up distracting him and let the Guns get win.….TNA Women’s Champion Gail Kim teamed with Angelina Love and Velvet Sky to take on Jackie Moore, ODB and Roxxi Laveaux. Not a bad match. The womens division is a treat for The Eagle. There maybe only a few “great” talents but most of them are good enough to make things interesting.….Samoa Joe continued his rampage this week by storming into Jim
Cornette’s office. When Cornette informed him to get ready for his match Joe refused saying he wasn’t wrestling but changed his mind when he was told he would be fired if he didn’t.….Mike Tenay sat down with Abyss for an in depth interview. He basically said that James Mitchell was lying about his father raising him. Abyss also made it known that there is another secret but he will take it to his grave. He then stormed off when Tenay started to push him for the answer.
Samoa Joe came out for his match against “Primetime” Elix Skipper and basically squashed him but got a DQ for not letting up on Skipper. He blamed Jim Cornette afterwards for the damage he did and for the blood he shed. Before he could really continue his rant his mic was cut off in mid
sentence. Looks like TNA is going for turning Joe heel gradually.….Scott Steiner made it known that he wants Petey Williams TNA Worlds Title shot. He said he will get it one way or the other. In another promo Dustin Rhodes came out and demanded an apology from Kaz for attacking him. Apparently they are going with the split personality of Dustin Rhodes and Black Reign. Kaz did come out but he refused to apologize. A brawl ensued all around the arena…..The main event was TNA Worlds Champion Kurt Angle and Robert Roode vs Booker T and his mystery partner. Booker T’s choice was the only that made sense…. Christian Cage. The Eagle was kinda shocked by this considering Booker and Cage don’t get along but it made for a great match. AJ Styles came down to the ring and looked like he might interfere but instead he ran to the back. Booker T and Christian Cage got the victory. Afterwards Kurt Angle and Cage called Styles out for an answer. He came out but just stood there confused on whose side he was on.

It was an average show. It was enough to keep The Eagle’s interest but nothing real special.
Catch and Release Matches
Catch… TNA Worlds Champion Kurt Angle and Robert Roode vs Booker T and Christian Cage. These are 4 of the top guys on the show and they showed that in this match.
Release… Samoa Joe vs “Primetime” Elix Skipper. I know they needed to feed someone to feed Joe but Skipper is talented and could have given him a better fight. It wasn’t terrible but I would have picked someone less talented to throw at Joe.
