WWE Raw Review: The WWE Title picture

Due to The Eagles extremely busy schedule today…. this is going to be a short column with some thoughts on last nights Monday Night Raw. Let the Royal Rumbl aftermath begin!!!….Let me give my thoughts on the rest of the show then I will get to the Cena/Orton situation. I heard a friend say that No Way Out is a must see as of right now. He is right… on paper its looks great. With the Elimination Chamber (which I will discuss later) and now Mr. Kennedy vs Ric Flair with The Natures Boy career on the line has been added. Okay… it’s a predictable match. There is no way that Flair is going to lose this one but if they both play their cards right this should be a good match. I liked Ric Flairs reaction to Kennedy’s challenge this week. It was simple and sweet. In case you missed it… all he said … was good luck and wooooooo!!! The Eagle is still wondering how and with who this will end……All I am going to say about the Women’s Division and the title… WWE spice it up. It’s the same old every week. Beth Phoenix is beatable. If they are waiting for Candace Michelle to
return then fine… but do something more interesting in the mean time……I have no idea what they are doing with Carlito. I thought when he agreed to stay they had something better planned for him. Yes, its possible they are building a tag team feud with the WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly and Carlito and Santino Marella but then again… Marella is involved in this storyline with Maria. So WWE got The Eagle confused on this one……The new Chris Jericho… I like it. His old gimmick just wasn’t gonna fit in this time. Now, granted his feud with JBL would be better if he was at his prime but its still enough to keep my interest. I am glad that they didn’t make these two go one on one again at No Way Out. It helps the feud to put them both in The Chamber. A friend pointed out today that he is concerned about JBL and his health being in this type of a match. Well, I didn’t put much thought into it until he mentioned it but he is right. JBL has never been in a Chamber Match but on the other hand he has been in several cage matches… even a barb wire cage match a while back. He has the fact that he hasn’t been in the ring for a while going against him. I think he will do fine.
Now, on to the WWE Title picture and Cena. One problem I have is that I am all for
tradition and I feel that changing tradition at the last minute is just wrong. The winner of the Royal Rumble always faces the champ at Mania. End of story. Now so that WWE can push Cena and get the title back on HHH they are changing it. Now granted they could set up a triple threat match at Mania but that wouldn’t be good. I like the idea of the Elimination Chamber. Take all the possible contenders and throw them in the most brutal match there is. I guess in the long run it will work out. I see a Orton vs HHH at WrestleMania but then where will that put John Cena? Who is there left for him to feud with unless he turns heel. Now, one bad idea that crossed The Eagles mind and I hope WWE doesnt try this… Cena vs Flair at Mania. That would be a mistake. The problem is you got to many babyfaces and not enough heels. The fans are booing Cena already. The only other option is to have Cena actually win at No Way Out and then meet HHH at Mania… then you could have Orton vs Hardy part 2. Time will tell folks how this all plays out but I gotta say… I love the unpredictability.
