Mr. Mal Occhio began his life as a nameless circus orphan, discovered amidst the stale popcorn remnants and crushed soda cups by the exiting elephant handlers. Unable to determine where this strange child came from, he was then
raised by “The Magnificent Moreno” - a fortune teller of great repute who traveled with the group. Having no name, he was dubbed “The Amazing Mal Occhio” after the Italian expression for “evil eye”. Moreno, a woman unable to have children of her own, taught young Mal everything she knew. In turn, Mal Occhio became fiercely dedicated to the mystical arts. Traveling town to town, earning their keep as a mother-son fortune telling team, the duo became renown for their accuracy - spooking common folk across eight states. It was also on these routes that Mr. Mal Occhio fell in love with professional wrestling, taking in the work of greats such as The Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, Terry Funk, Sabu and Rey Mysterio. He was instantly captivated at the spectacle of brawn and brains, showmanship and sport. It soon became his second passion. It was then that Mal decided to merge both callings into one, dawned a hood, and began life on the wrestling circuit (vowing to exact his revenge upon upon anyone who stands in his way via a full and total release of his mal occhio).
