Big Poppa dumps on HHH, Mr. Mal concurs

Finally, someone in the industry with the testicular fortitude-enough to say what needed to be said: HHH doesn’t deserve the spot he has in the WWE based on his talent. He established his spot via, ahem, other means. In an interview with the Baltimore Sun, Scott Steiner is quoted as saying, “Look at Triple H’s career before he started (having sex with) the boss’ daughter: He lost to Ultimate Warrior in 30 seconds; he was losing to guys like Alex Wright in WCW; he lost to one of the Godwins in a pig slop match. And then all of a sudden he’s [having sex with] the boss’ daughter and he’s the toughest guy in the world. I’m not the only guy who thinks that. ”

Here, here. HHH is one of the main reasons today’s WWE product is so damn stale. Continually forced upon the public as a top face (when, in fact, he is a much, much better heel) HHH embodies everything that is wrong with the WWE. Talk about the Emperor wearing no clothes. Without much competition (sorry, TNA fans) the WWE continues to serve up uninspired television, piss poor wrestling angles and shoddy in-ring action. And leading the way in all of this? Hunter Hearst Helmsley himself. Isn’t it enough that he will one day own the company, or at least a major portion therein? Does he have to be in the title picture all the time as well?

When HHH reportedly refused to move to Smackdown a few years back, it spoke volumes about where his loyalities lie — with him, and him alone. What could have been instant credibility to the fledgling Smackdown brand (for better or worse) instead solidified the brand as secondary, both in the mind of the rest of the roster as well as fans themselves. Thank the pro wrestling gods that the Undertaker never put himself ahead of the business — now cemented as Smackdown’s #1 face — as HHH does on a seemingly weekly basis.

Listening to HHH on the stick is painfully lame the majority of the time (at least we don’t have to listen to his pathetic attempt to mimic Road Dogg’s DX catchphrases anymore) and his in-ring work has been in steady decline for years. What’s left beside his giant ego? Very little, save for the fact who he shares his bed with. And that apparently makes all the difference — no matter how low the ratings go.

Who the fuck do you think you are!! The way your talking, you know shit about wrestling in general. Who the fuck cares what Big Poppa Pump says, he is a loser has-been. I just talked to a huge indepenent star today, BD Bad News, about Big Papa Pump (yea he pumps steriods) and TNA, and I agree with him TNA SUCKS!!! It is full of has-beens that are too old and aren’t popular anymore in WWE. Vince is a genius for bringing WWE to unknown worlds, some people are just stuck in the past territory rules, and that is just fucking stupid. HHH was huge with DX and he is a great babyface and heel. Shawn Micheals also is big and WWE and he didn’t have sex with the bosses daughter to get there. Along with HHH, The Undertaker and everyone else, THEY WORKED HARD!!! Unlike you who writes complete BULLSHIT!! Good day to you SIR!!!

  2. Sensational1 Says:

Wow! Well I guess you can’t say Triple H is without fans Mr. Mal. Although I agree with Big Papa pump that Triple H shouldn’t be front and center all the time, and yes there’s perks that come with being the boss’s son in law. Isn’t that why they call him the cerebral assassin? But, I think he is, and has been a asset to the WWE. He also criticized HBK in that article saying he wasn’t that talented, which I totally disagree with. The reason things have gone south can’t be pinned on one person alone, I think it’s a number of issues, one admittedly is the WWE’s rebackaging of the same thing, I mean HHH’s a 12 time champ, come on, isn’t that enough already! On the other hand I can’t help but question Papa pump’s motives for saying this. I mean stirring up controversy is good for business.

Great points Sensational 1. Stupid Marked out points by you Rob the Knob. Triple Haich has never recovered from his Wrestlemania loss to John Cena. A bad injury and an even worse angle where him and Michaels were told to recycle their youthful past turned the Game into the Bore. End of story. Please no more title reigns. The heir apparent to Flair’s legacy as the Greatest Of All Time should not come from this generation. Aside from Kurt Angle there is just no one all that worthy. And that includes Randy Orton. On a personal note Rob, you should bow and curtsy at the feet of Mr. Mal for the insights attained through 20 plus years of wrestling obsession. You my friend are nothing more than the biggest Doink whoever graced these pages. T.M

Hi Rob. Thanks for the comments — believe me, Mr. Mal has thick skin. He can take someone disagreeing with him. Next time, however, if you articulate your point without profanity, that would be very much appreciated. We have a lot of young readers here at WrestlersRamblings, and we don’t need to expose them any further to that sort of low-brow word thuggery.

That being said — let me also point out that Mr. Mal is by no means a Scott Steiner fan whatsoever. Puh-lease. Nor was I trumpeting TNA. I have no idea where you get that from at all. What I DID support was HHH being called out by someone in the industry with the kay-hones enough to say what needed to be said.

HHH is vastly overrated, and primarily, has retained his spot on top because of his family connection. Shawn Michaels got there (and stays there) because he is one of the greatest workers of all time. Comparing the two is assanine. HHH is a good enough worker and personality — I never said he had ZERO talent, he very much does — but his continued title contention is laughable.

Finally, if you think HHH was the reason the original DX got over, well, that’s not even worth debating — because he was fourth on that popularity scale, trailing Michaels, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. And if you’re thinking he was actually GOOD in this last DX incarnation? Well . . . that says a lot about you as a fan. You’ll gladly suck up whatever milk comes from the teet of Vince McMahon. He loves ya for it, my friend.

Break free of the WWE and watch some old NWA, Rob. Your mind needs some expanding . . . then come back and let’s talk some more pro wrestling. Again, Mr. Mal is big boy. He enjoys the debates.

Big ups to Sensational1 and my ol’pal the Troublemaker for having my back. It does not go unnoticed by this evil eye.
