TNA iMPACT review: Looking for Change
Monday, June 2nd, 2008Matches for the night:
Tomko vs. Christian Cage
Rock n Rave Infection vs. Sonjay Dut and Black Machismo Jay Lethal
Cowboy James Storm vs. War Machine Rhino
Roxxi vs. Angelina Love
Team 3d takes the spotlight as they have for the last few weeks with Booker T joining the Thug mix along with Tomko as well. Booker T is trying to get respect and well this is not going to happen as a thug and not as a contender as far as I am concerned. He is great at generating heat I am dissappointed in this as he was making a good impression before taking on the role of head thug. Now I do not see him going much further then beating up AJ Styles each week, so he will take a back seat to Team 3D and then either take a shot for the title or become a frustrated overated ex-wwe star like others in the company.
Chrsitian Cage makes a good point as the fact that the past is just that what has Booker done lately to prove he deserves a shot at the title. That’s when Samoa Joe the Heavyweight Champion make a short statement that he intends to walk in as champion as walk out as champion at Slammiversary.
TNA kicks off the program with a match between Sonjay Dut and Black Machismo Jay Lethal against the Rock N Rave Infection Lance Hoyt and Jimmy Rave. This one is for the books as we see the back and forth blows between both teams. And at one point I thought there would be a real confrontation between Sonjay Dut and Jay Lethal as this has been set up in the last few weeks. A close call here and there and then the pin by Sonjay Dut, with a little misdirection help from Ace Young from American Idol.
Angelina Love and Velvet Sky do the call to battle as they do with the beautiful people representing in this next match against Roxxi. More of a revenge match for Roxxi but, its all about the numbers here when Roxxi had the opportunity for a victory and falls short after hair spray to the eyes by Velvet Sky.
The Awesome Kong challenge, well lets just say that when the challenger is like 5′ 180 against an over 250 opponnent that there is no real challenge. I look forward to the day someone from the audience comes in and challenges her just to prove the point. However unless you go to a broadcast of the American Gladiators that may not happen.
The King of the Mountain Match Qualifier will be Cowboy James Storm against Rhino. This was an all out brawl to say the least as they started in the back anything and everything that could be used was. Until they hit the ring and the bell rang then the action really hit, as this battle between these two was a heated one. Rhino the favorite in this one but, Storm looked pretty good. James Storm hit the last call or at least made the attempt, but missed which gave Rhino a change to get the Gore and the win. The Final match for the night was the second qualifier between Tomko and Christian Cage. These two know each other and have a long history and so this battle was a great one and the best for the night. Tomo had the advantage as his strength gave Cage a beatdown that would not end. With several near falls from both sides and a missed Frog Splash from Cage. He finally hits the Tornado DDT and its all over as Cage will advance.
TNA will take over and thats the match…..Shredder88
