Folks, before I even go into this weeks ECW show I want to announce something to all the ECW fans out there….. ECW is not dead and will be with us through 2008!!!! Sci-Fi and WWE agreed to a deal a few hours before ECW aired. (EDITOR’S NOTE – Hip-hip hurray! For all fans that miss this show every week, you owe it to yourself to see guys like Punk, Morrison and Burke work — they are three of the most talented wrestlers in the game today. ECW, given that they have only one hour, doesn’t waste a ton of time with endless in-ring monologues or WAY too many backstage pre-tapes like WWE RAW and Smackdown. Fans should support this league — regardless of how different it may be from the “original” ECW. Great news! - Mr. Mal) Now, lets get down to business….. The Eagle’s ECW review:
The night started off with Miz and the Extreme Exposé coming to the ring. The Miz called Big Daddy V fat and John Morrison a fruit cake. After he finished running down his competition for a shot at the ECW World Championship he turned his attention to Kelly Kelly (pictured, left). He said because she went on a date with Balls Mahoney he would make her life a living hell instead of firing her . . . Out comes the former ECW champ, John Morrison. Miz and Morrison take a few shots at each other then Morrison turns his attention to Kelly Kelly. The Eagle is starting to feel bad for the beautiful diva now (The Eagle watches as every man reading rushes to comfort Kelly) Kelly finally had enough and slapped the snot out Morrison. Balls Mahoney’s music hit and he came to her rescue. (sorry guys… he beat you to it) EDITOR’S NOTE — Damn! - Mr. Mal. A shoving match ensued between Balls and Morrison but Miz took Balls out from the behind. After Balls got knocked out the ring Morrison took out Miz. Out of no where C.M. Punk runs in and takes Morrison out. The Eagle never saw him coming (!) He gives Morrison a much needed beat down. This would set up a tag match later in the night between Punk/Balls and Morrison/Miz.
Kane vs Big Daddy V ended with some HUGE surprises. This match was better than expected with both men showing off their strength. Just as Kane was finally getting the upper hand out comes Mark Henry. Then out of no where The Great Khali enters the ring and begins beating everyone. In the end it would be the Big Red Machine who would get the upper hand. I must say this was impressive. I am not a fan of Henry or Khali but putting them in with Kane and Big V is the best way to use them. Next week all 4 men will face each other in a Monsters Ball . . . Elijah Burke looked very aggressive in his win against Nunzio. It’s a shame that Burke isn’t in any major storyline cause he is extremely talented. Hopefully that will change soon. His feud with Nunzio can be a decent one but doesn’t do Burke justice . . . The main event wasn’t what it could be. Morrison and Miz didn’t sell that well and Punk seemed off tonight. But overall it wasn’t that bad just not the type of match these men are capable of pulling off. Having Punk get the pin on Morrison was a nice touch, though.
ECW results for Oct. 23/2007
Kane def. Big Daddy V
Elijah Burke def. Nunzio
C.M. Punk & Balls Mahoney def. John Morrison & The Miz
The Eagles Grade C+
It was an average show that kept The Eagle’s interest. There was nothing real amazing that happened. The shocking moment was the appearance of Khali and Henry. The backstage segments were some what entertaining but could have been better. Pretty much an average show heading into Cyber Sunday. At least ECW will live on for another year.

Burke’s burial is a complete mystery to Mr. Mal. They need to feud him with someone near the top. I love Little Guido, eer, Nunzio — but they don’t push that guy at all. As a result, Burke is essentially feauding with a jobber. Not a good career move.
