FLASH! HBK knee blown - Judgment Day PPV appearance off?
The news just keeps getting worse and worse for World Wrestling Entertainment, as Dave Meltzer is now reporting that Shawn Michaels has blown-out a knee and missed a house show last night as a result. While it is still planned for Michaels to somehow make his Judgment Day PPV tomorrow night, albeit on presumably sheer guts and a ton of pain killers, the WWE brass must not be sleeping much these days as the injuries continue to wreak havoc with their roster. A long-term HBK injury would add him the star-studded pile already occupied by Hunter Hearst Helmsley; Booker T; Rey Mysterio; Undertaker; Mr. Kennedy; Gregory Helms and others. Throw in the recent firings of Rob Van Dam; Sabu; Vito; Rob Conway; Scotty 2 Hotty; Ariel and Nick Mitchell, and one has to wonder whether a call to few working legends such as Greg “The Hammer” Valentine or Abdullah the Butcher (hey - a masked heel can dream no?) cannot be far behind, even for a short-term run. Nostalgia does wonders to make people forget they are watching what basically will amount to an Ohio Valley Wrestling card with a few names on top for star-power.
