STILL HERE? GOOD. Thanks to The Eagle, Mr. Mal has learned that ECW Champion John Morrison has dropped his ECW World Championship tonight to C.M. Punk at the latest TV tapings. Morrison’s name was among those listed in the Signature Pharmacy, and the sudden drop (on a weekly show, fresh off a PPV only last weekend, no less) smacks of punishment for his involvement. Odds are fans also won’t be seeing Morrison for the next month. What is it with guys holding this title getting into problems out-of-ring (cough-cough . . . RVD . . . cough-cough). Congrats to C.M. Punk, but the move is a damaging one to the brand as a whole. The two were really building some momentum that could have led to Punk further chasing the title for a while longer. That being said, that title may be staying there a while. Punk is exactly the type of performer the WWE will surely be looking to push more, especially as the public digest exactly what has happened to their beloved pro wrestling. The fallout has not even begun. Congrats to C.M. Punk. He deserves it.
