FLASH! WWE suspends 10 wrestlers for Wellness violations!
Wow! Like a thunderbolt from the heavens, the WWE has acted swiftly today in dealing with names provided to them from Albany County investigators. While the names have yet to be released, it should become fairly obvious over the next while as performers fail to appear on their regular shows. The suspensions are reportedly based on information that the WWE Superstars in question were using Signature Pharmacy or other similar internet prescription services prior to the implimentation of the WWE Wellness policy. The WWE has informed all talent that, beginning Nov. 1, they will release the names of the wrestlers in question. Here is the release from corporate.wwe.com:
STAMFORD, Conn., August 30, 2007 - Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.’s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its wellness policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations. It has been WWE’s practice not to release the names of those who have been suspended, but notice has been sent to all WWE performers that names of anyone who is suspended under the Wellness Policy as of November 1 will be made public.
More on this HUGE development as it develops!!!
