Initial investigation inconclusive in Martel’s death
The Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit’s initial investigation into the death of WWE Hall-of-Famer Sherri Martel has revealed that the 49-year-old former Women’s World Champion did not die of natural causes, however, four play was not suspected in her demise. Reportedly, Martel went to sleep at her mother’s house after not feeling well - and never awoke. She was found later in the afternoon by her husband, according to The Tuscaloosa News and Captain Loyd Bakers of the Homicide Unit. The exact cause of death is still unknown, pending the results of an autopsy and toxicology reports.
