Jeff Hardy drops the ball; suspended for 60 days

COPYRIGHT WrestlersRamblings.com The Eagle column headshotYesterday Sensational1 wrote a column talking about the misuse of the IC Title in the WWE. Last night on Monday Night Raw The Eagle thought someone in the WWE brass read her column and decided to follow the advice. It wasn’t until this morning that I realized the real reason Chris Jericho won the IC Title last night. As announced by WWE.com this morning Jeff Hardy has been suspended for 60 days for violating the WWE Wellness Policy. According the reports The Eagle has read Hardy met with Vince McMahon before Raw and was told to drop the title. Hardy has also been removed from the Money In The Bank match at WrestleMania 24.

COPYRIGHT WrestlersRambligs.com and Mr. Mal Occhio ALL RIGHTS RESERVED WWE Superstar Jeff HardyNeedless to say The Eagle is extremely disappointed in this situation and with Jeff Hardy. Some WWE Superstars have been quoted as saying “what an idiot”. I have to agree. Some reports are stating that this is NOT a steroid violation which lead others to assume that illegal drugs are involved. Of course WWE does not release what substance was found in a wrestlers system so we may never know……No matter whether its steroids or illegal drugs… Hardy dropped the ball. He was getting the biggest push of his career. He was favored to win the MITB match this year. Now, he will be home watching it kicking himself in the butt. I hope this is a wake up call for the Rainbow Hair Warrior considering this is his second offense and his next one will mean the ending of his WWE career.

What an idiot is right, says Mr. Mal. Talk about talking one too many chair shots to the head — either that — or he’s just naturally dumb. Amid the biggest push of his career, with people finally believing him to have main event stuff (and desire) Hardy goes out and blows it all . . . again . . .

It makes me sick, to see a guy like Hardy stab the fans in the back for a quick buzz. To be honest I wouldn’t mind if he quit wrestling altogether. It’d be better then building us all up and letting us all down in one fell swoop!

I can’t say I’m not upset, and disappointed. I enjoyed Monday’s match and I foresaw many great matches for the future. Despite all that however, my first thought wasn’t, what a idiot, it was, what a shame. What a shame that a rising superstar would take a path of self-destruction. I sincerely hope that Jeff can learn from his mistakes, and return focused and ready to be the Legend thriller again. I also wanted to applaud WWE for cracking down on this sort of behavior, I think many superstars will benefit in the long run. As for the IC title I can only hope that around “the sexy beast’s” waiste it can become a hot commodity once more.

A little update…. according to some reports Hardy would rather quit WWE than go to rehab. The rules state that WWE can suspend for 60 days without pay but that they can work shows. The catch to this is if they are need of rehab then WWE CANNOT make them work. I am thinking that WWE wants him in rehab and he is refusing to go. Looks like the reckless Jeff Hardy is back. WWE will have no choice but to fire him if he refuses to go to rehab or if he fails another test. A long hard fall from the top my friends.

    To quote Ron Simmons, “Damn!”

  6. suprised Says:

I am really suprised that some of the people who are making comments on different blogs know nothing about this wrestler. He is a HIGH FLIER, he does dangerous stunts every show he is on. This causes major pain, it’s like being in a car wreck 3-4 nights a week! So more than likely they found some kind of narcotic pain killers in his system. I’d like to see some of these so called fans do when these people do to their bodies simply for YOUR entertainment and NOT take pain killers!
Jeff man get some rest and get some therapy for your recent injuries and come back better than ever! Your true fans will be waiting for you and there are a lot of us out there.

  7. Mr. Mal Occhio Says:

Mr. Mal does not believe that pain killers are banned under the WWE Wellness plan. Steroids, however, as well as other illicit drugs such as cocaine, heroin, marijuana are covered. I have no idea what Hardy was caught with, but having a legitimate prescription for a pain killer shouldn’t be grounds for suspension. Abuse of said presciptions, however, are indeed grounds for such action.
