The Chris Benoit story refuses to leave the headlines as still more items are surfacing following last month’s tragedy. First, an independent wrestler whose idol was apparently Benoit was found hanged recently, after apparently being despondent over his wife’s leaving some time earlier. Devil Bhudakhan, from Pittsburgh, was only 31. His real name was James Fawcett. Apparently, he not only looked up to Benoit, but even pattered his pro wrestling style (and death?) after the former Canadian Crippler-turned-double murderer.

Elsewhere, it is also being reported that Jimmy Kimmel’s joke about Benoit during Comedy Cental’s “Roast of Flavor Flav� is being censored from the broadcast on August 12. Apparently, Kimmel’s now axed-line to the former Public Enemy clock-wearer – known to have several children with various different women – was, “Chris Benoit is a better father than you.� Reports have the show’s censors now placing the former World Champ’s name on a list of no-no jokes for future instances.

Finally, in a case of classic denial (and we ain’t talkin’ ‘bout the river in Egypt, either) CW President Dawn Ostroff outright changed history during the recent Television Critic Association summer meeting. When asked if the death/murders committed by Benoit will have any affect on Smackdown! Ms. Ostroff reportedly responded that, “He didn’t appear on Smackdown.â€? Huh?  Mr. Mal’s heard of kayfabe before – but never in the world of corporate television, and certainly never at that level of outright fabrication. No confirmation on whether or not she then plugged both ears and mouthed, “la-la-la-la-la-la” to avoid furthering questioning . . .
