Old School Sunday: British Bulldogs v Dibiase/Hansen
Welcome once again to another edition of WrestlersRamblings.com’s Old School Sundays. Today, we focus on four top-flight performers — all in their prime years — with a little-seen match from Japan. The British Bulldogs, Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid, take on Ted Dibiase and Stan Hansen. For our newer or younger fans, the British Bulldogs were not only one of Mr. Mal’s all-time favorite teams, but also that of virtually anyone who watched wrestling in the 1980s. Big, fast, rough and tough: the British Bulldogs could do it all. Replete in their initial WWF-outift baby blue tights, this is a real treat for any fans of this incredible duo. This match appears to be around 1984 or so, perhaps just prior to their WWF explosion. The team was named Wrestling Observer Tag Team of the Year in 1985. Coincidentally, their opponents were named Japan’s Strongest Tag Team that same year. Here, the Bulldogs look incredibly pumped-up, as they square off against the future Million Dollar Man in Dibiase and AWA World Heavyweight Champion in Hansen. Not a classic match in the sense of action, but more so for who is involved. Watch for the ending - remind anyone of a certain video game of that era?
NOTE: We have also added another TWO new features here at WrestlersRamblings.com - Pro Wrestling Biographies, which you can access via the link at the top right of this page (our first four entries are the combatants contained in this match.
