Indeed – for those not initiated: I’m gonna tell ya a story, about a place you don’t wanna be. It ain’t no home sweet home — it’s a home sweet misery. True dat. God I love bringing ya’ll these segments of Old School Sundays! Does it get any better than The Fabulous Freebirds versus The Von Erichs in World Class Championship Wrestling?!? I think not! As we get deeper and deeper into this weekly tribute, match by match, we seem to be trumping ourselves with each passing episode.

What a great time to be a pro wrestling fan, with all this fantastic footage at our fingertips, the internet being a medium through which we can all share it, a comments section here on the site (as well as the forums) where we can all share thoughts . . . it’s enough to make a less-manly hooded hero shed a tear of joy . . . sniff . . . but NOT THIS MASKED MAN! NO SIR! Not when a match-up with the likes of The Fabulous Freebirds (that’s Michael P.S. Hayes; the late Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy and Buddy “Jack” Roberts for those not in the know) taking on the Von Erichs (the late Mike Von Erich, the late Von Erich patriarch Fritz and last surviving brother Kevin) in no-less of a Bad Street Match — meaning anything goes — is about to unfurl!!

Besides . . . there’s no crying in pro wrestling! Only blood! And sweat! And guts! And glory! Not to mention writers working readers into a fever pitch in anticipation of what they are about to see!!! Settle back and enjoy this classic battle of yesteryear, from World Class Championship Wrestling’s 1984 Parade of Champions inside an emotional Texas Stadium, not long after the death of brother David in Japan. Sure, brother Kerry would take on Ric Flair later in the show for the NWA World Title, but this was about family pride, dammit! We’d sell ya the whole seat for this one — but you’ll only need the edge!!! For the love of Texas start the daggum match!!!
