Survivor Series aftermath scores a C for WWE Smackdown
Put the left over turkey away, sit back and relax cause this is your Friday Night SmackDown review….. Well the Teddy Long heart attack storyline is now unfolding. It seems that Edge and Vickie Guerrero have hooked up. After screaming at him and giving him a title shot next week they began kissing. I didn’t like it when they did it with Lita and The Eagle definitely don’t like it with Vickie Guerrero. I understand that the WWE wants heat on Edge but having him in a relationship with Eddie Guerrero’s widow is not the proper way to do it.…..MVP was rewarded this week with the United States Title Ring by JBL. Talk about major egos in the ring. MVP got on the mic to take shots at Matt Hardy but before he could get far Rey Mysterio came out. He called MVP a punk which caused MVP to sucker punch him. Rey got the upper hand and the US champ went running up the ramp. This set up a match between these two later in the night.
John Morrison and The Miz went up against The Major Brothers in a non title match. Fairly decent match but a quick one. I like Miz being tag champ better than going after the ECW title.….The Kane/Big Daddy V feud continued this week. As usual Matt Striker interfered causing the DQ. Something has to give in this feud. I like it and it has some possibilities but they need to do something. It is getting old real quick…..As announced earlier in the night Rey Mysterio took on the US champ MVP. This was the best match of the night by far. Neither competitor‘s seemed to have the advantage for very long. Rey even hit two 619’s and still couldn’t put the champ away. Give Rey credit cause MVP had to cheat to get sneak the victory. This feud isn’t over by any means.…..Finley and Hornswoggle teamed up to take on Mark Henry. It wasn’t the story behind it (The Eagle is tired of Hornswoggle) but the action in the ring was lacking. Both men’s timing seemed to be off even Finley’s who is normally a great worker. The Irishmen’s victory celebration was cut short by The Great Khali. The giant left Finley laying and Hornswoggle running for his life.…..Jamie Noble continued his impressive ways by defeating Chuck Palumbo. I know pinning the biker isn’t the greatest accomplishment but it was a decent match. Considering they have faded out the Cruiserweight title it makes you wonder why they are pushing Noble so hard now. He was in charge of the cruiserweights (or still is). Maybe this Is part of the deal…. I wont complain if you give me a push.….Torrie Wilson defeated Victoria in a very quick match. I am not sure why they had this match cause it makes no sense. The women’s title is not on SmackDown and if they were going to push Victoria then why give her the loss?
The show ended with The Cutting Edge as Batista as the special guest. Of course the GM Vickie Guerrero came to the ring with Edge which was her second mistake of the night. Batista kept it short and sweet saying Edge didn’t deserve a title shot but did deserve the beating he was gonna give him next week. The champ pushed the contender to the ground and walked away. Then the lights went out and the ‘dong” was heard. The Undertaker appeared and went right after Edge but he ran. So he did the only thing he could do….gave the GM a tombstone.

Needs some improvement. SmackDown just came off a decent PPV with one hell of a title match and this is what the aftermath is? Granted the ending was good but kinda expected. The whole Vickie Guerrero/Edge thing got The Eagle sick to the stomach. Only one great match on the whole card. They can do better than this.
Catch — Match of the night… MVP vs Rey Mysterio. These two work well together and I look forward to more matches with these two.
Release — Match of the night…. Finley/Hornswoggle vs Mark Henry. Seems like everyones timing was off with this match. Maybe Finley was having a bad night.
That’s all folks. We here at wrestlersramblings.com hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving and don’t fill up too much on the left overs.
