Wrestlemania DVD editing plain wrong
By Mr. Mal Occhio
WRESTLER’S RAMBLINGS wrestling blogÂ
Mr. Mal just read something disturbing this morning that I just had to let everyone in on - apparently the upcoming Wrestlemania XXII DVD release will be a victim of a re-envisioning on the part of the powers-that-be in the WWE. Now, not only will the Mickie James-Trish Stratus match no longer feature Mickie licking her fingers after grabbing Trish’s crotch (a part that Mr. Mal’s nephew found “sickâ€?) it will also feature a clean ending, with Mickie’s botched Stratusfaction completely-removed. The match will now end out of nowhere with Stratus laying down following the Mickie chick kick. Since when did George Lucas start running the WWE? Leave it alone, says Mal. Sure, James messed up - and I was all over her for it in this blog. But them’s the breaks, gang. Win some, lose some. The match should have run as was, period. Editing of any sort stinks.

Bastards! I just did a similar piece over at prowrestlingblog.com yesterday. I even compared him to Lucas. Go figure.
Anyways, I feel the same way as I am sure everybody did.
For me the crotch grab made me sit up and say “No she didn’t”, but it was the finger lick that took it to the edge of too far and stopped. If the finger lick didn’t happen, it would have just been another instance of WWE trying to do HLA.

Editing in any form is wrong. That match - once you take away the botched finish - had nothing memorable BESIDES the finger lick. And now it’s gone. They should have just nixed the whole bout from the DVD release, really. I mean, to have visual proof that Trish REALLY IS finger-licking good would have been worth the price of having to sit through that match again. And now? Mr. Mal’ll just click to the next selection.
