WWE RAW review: confusing storylines continue

It’s the aftermath of WWE Cyber Sunday PPV. Folks, this is your WWE RAW review. Lets get down to business . . . The night started off with a WWE Diva Halloween costume battle royal. Kelly Kelly pulls off the victory but her reward was a beat down by the womans champ Beth Phoenix (Editor’s note - Hands-off Kelly Kelly, you big, bully Glamazon! - Mr. Mal) . . . Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon exchanged words. Shawn said the next time he leaves this company it will be on his own terms. Vince then ask the crowd if they want a rematch with HBK vs Randy Orton and of course the crowd wants it. He then says be careful for what you wish for because at Survivor Series it will be HBK vs Randy Orton for the WWE Title. He asked Shawn what he is going to do with it. HBK reply was to scare the crap of the chairman by nearly nailing him with Sweet Chin Music . . . Finally we see Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly team up. They got an impressive victory over The Worlds Greatest Tag Team. This could turn out to be a great opportunity for Rhodes. They are using his inexperience as a way to build a storyline.
The Hornswoggle saga continues. This time he faced off against Jonathon Coachman with Mick Foley as the special guest referee. As you can expect Coach pushed Foley around so Foley did the only thing he could… he laid out Coach and let Hornswoggle have his way. When is this going to stop? . . The tag team division is intensifying every week. This week we have another singles match between Lance Cade and Paul London. There was some interference and in the end it paid off as Cade got the victory. The Highlanders came out to show their intentions by laying out London and Kendrick. Looks like the tag champs maybe heading for a split. Before the match Mickie James approached Trevor Murdoch and thanked him for pushing her out of the way last week. Cade came up and gave him a hard time about talking to James and told him she cost them the match last week . . . D.H. Smith made another impressive appearance this week. This time he teamed with the Intercontinental champion Jeff Hardy to take on Carlito and Mr. Kennedy. With time Smith will be a force in the WWE. The Eagle can see It now…. He is always smiling… some idiot will tick him off and he will get serious and start kickin some booty.
Santino Marella really out did himself this week. He dressed up as Stone Cold and really made fun of him. What would a Marella/ Austin segment be without a can of “ass whip”. Maria then announced that next week on Raw Stone Cold will be there live. Finally a showdown between these two . . . The main event was a handicap match pinning Triple H against Randy Orton and Umaga. HHH tried as hard as he could but they were to much for him. Then as The Eagle predicted HBK came running to the ring and together they laid out the WWE champ and Umaga. After the match Vince announced that next week for one night only DX will reunite. Here’s the confusing part…. DX never disbanded… officially. They just stopped teaming. This is what I mean by ending storylines with no rhyme or reason.

Almost a decent show. The matches were solid and the promos were decent. The HBK/McMahon segment grabbed my attention cause of the backstage friction between these two. Nothing else was really that excited. Over all not a bad show… but it was missing a major play… a “oh my God” moment. Some of my disappointment is that fact that Jericho didn’t make his debut. We know he is coming and I am all for the suspense but how much longer can we run promos before he appears? Maybe its just The Eagle’s impatience or the fact that the promos are getting old now. Come on Jericho… Save Us.
