WWE Smackdown review: strong show builds to Cyber Sunday

Just nine days away from WWE Cyber Sunday PPV and everyone is trying to build up momentum. Who succeeded and who dropped the ball? Read and find out. I am The Eagle and this is your SmackDown review: The Great Khali (pictured, below, right) and Kane kicked off the night. Kane is a great worker but not much you can do with Khali. This ended in a DQ after Khali wouldn’t let go of a hold outside the ring. After words Big Daddy V came down to finish things off from Tuesday night. The Big Red Machine was left lying. This could be a decent feud if it’s played right but this is the WWE . . . The Chuck Palumbo/Chris Masters feud continues on. They need to step this up a notch. Masters did finally get a win with some distractions. You gotta love the women but they aren’t helping this boring feud. I am not sure how this is going to play out since I read that Masters might have been hurt at a house show yesterday.
MVP told Matt Hardy that he considered him a friend and that he has his back against Fit Finlay. Boy did he come through for his tag team partner. During the bout Finlay distracted the ref by pulling off the turn buckle. As the ref was trying to fix it the Irishman went for his shillelagh when out of no where MVP appears and knocks the weapon away. This enables Hardy to apply the Twist of Fate and get the 1-2-3. Before everyone gets excited…. No MVP isn’t turning … he is simply trying to avoid facing his teammate at Cyber Sunday . . . Dave Taylor once again assisted Drew McIntyre in a victory over the Major Brothers. This time it was Brian Major who fell victim to the distractions. Now its time to put both tag teams together and see what they can do. Personally The Eagle thinks McIntyre will be better in singles action . . . JBL continues to tick off current superstars. Before it was Rey Mysterio but this week it was the WWE World Champion Batista. I don’t care who you are or what you have done….. never ever call the Animal a coward. Just ask JBL about the spear he got for uttering those words.
Ok I am confused… maybe someone can help me. Earlier we had one half of the tag champions compete in a singles match (the other half competed later), Brian Major, one half of The Major Brothers, compete against one half of another tag team and now we have two talented cruiserweights team up against former tag team champs. Yes, Deuce and Domino faced off against Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang. If you have the teams then use them. Why not have the Major Brothers take on Deuce and Domino and have Yang and Moore battle each other? Some one send me the application for a job at the WWE. Moore and Yang pulled off a quick victory. Seems like the boys from the other side of the tracks are getting buried on the SmackDown roster . . . A little advice for Jamie Noble from this wise bird…. Don’t tick off the general manager. Last week he had to face The Great Khali and this week he faced a even more fierce monster…. The Undertaker! The Dead Man made quick work of the cruiserweight. (Note the cruiserweight part). Why they are burying Noble instead of putting the Cruiserweight title on him is beyond me. Oh, they can’t do that cause the title is gone . . . Another cryptic message appeared tonight for the pending return of Chris Jericho. I am loving the mystery and hints with this push . . . In what was one of the better matches of the night MVP took on Rey Mysterio (pictured, left). These are the kinds of matches Rey should be in… not with Batista and Khali. This did end with a DQ on Rey because Finlay came for revenge against MVP. Mysterio took out Finlay and reminded him who he is facing at Cyber Sunday.

The Eagles Grade B+
The matches were all great and the feuds are building together nicely. The only thing that kept it from a A grade was the tag team turmoil. SmackDown is looking good heading into the PPV.
